My father was my absolute HERO. He was loving and kind, and he made us laugh! He worked hard so that we could have the things that he did not always have as a kid growing up in the depression. He read us Bible stories, and took us to church each Sunday. He even loved visiting other churches, when we were on vacation. He thought my mother was the most wonderful and beautiful woman in the world (and she was) and if they had disagreements, we never heard them. He treated all women with respect and instilled that in his son. He opened car doors, and held chairs, and was always saying “Ladies First”. He taught me to learn from stuff that didn’t turn out as planned, and to always try my best. He was an example of service, and treating others as you would like to be treated. He guided little boys to become Eagle Scouts, and he beamed at every concert and play and recital I ever participated in. He went to parent -teacher conferences, and made us feel like we were the best kids in the world. He was a World War 2 hero, and he returned from that war to live a life in gratitude and patriotism.
I loved him very much. He gave me a very BraveHeart.
